Thanks so much for stopping by. Here's a little origin story behind Budgie Box Gift Co.

I relocated from Toronto to Vancouver for what felt like a dream role for the large travel company. Shortly after, in spring 2020, the travel industry came to an abrupt stop, and I, like many others, was left wondering what would come next.

I've always been the kind of person who loves discovering unique gifts, meeting the makers behind them, and hearing their stories. My closet has always been stashed with gifts ready for the next occasion. So when I was preparing a care package for my sister back in Toronto, I had a light bulb moment that I could better support the small businesses I admired by bringing their products together in a curated gift box.

The moment I started reaching out to the local entrepreneurs, the heaviness of uncertainty lifted and was replaced with inspiration, purpose, and a genuine feeling of connection. One by one, I was deeply moved by the entrepreneurs who were facing their own challenges but still focused and dedicated to helping those around them. Their passion, creativity, and resilience were bright lights in an otherwise dim and uncertain time.

It is my mission to help keep that spirit alive by celebrating impact-focused small businesses by sharing their stories and bringing a little spark of joy and inspiration to each Budgie Box experience.
